AVCCAM is the name of Panasonic's professional video line up employing the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (AVCHD) codec. It employs SD/SDHC memory cards as recording media.
Back to top | ||
Do I have to use exactly the same SD/SDHC memory cards for Left and Right for 3D image shooting?
You do not necessarily have to use the same one but there are some conditions. - Speed class: faster than class 4 - Before shooting: Please format the SD/SDHC memory cards with the AG-3DA1. * Panasonic's SD/SDHC memory cards are recommended. |
||

What is the HDMI terminal?
HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface). HDMI enables you to transfer
digital Audio & Video streams with one cable. AG-3DA1 uses HDMI TYPE A connector. |
||
Back to top | ||
What is the signal output from the HDMI terminal?
A frame sequential stream and the audio are output. Image can be viewed in 3D with a monitor, TV or display which support the HDMI1.4a standard.

Can the AG-3DA1 record in SDTV format?
AG-3DA1 records in HDTV (1080i/720p) only.
Back to top | ||
Can the characters displayed on the screen of the AG-3DA1 be output for display on an external monitor?
Yes, the information can be imposed onto video out from HDMI and HD-SDI
outs. See ''OUTPUT OSD'' item in the SET UP MENU: DISPLAY SETUP TO ''ON'' * Time-code, audio-level-meter, focus-bar are not output. |
||
Back to top | ||
Why is the AG -3DA1 not equipped with an AUTO IRIS feature?
Only manual IRIS is available, because automatic IRIS would leave a risk of discrepancy in brightness between the two lenses.
Back to top | ||
What will happen if I use SD/SDHC memory cards of differing capacity?
It will not cause a problem for shooting, but recording stops when the capacity is full on a small size card. Panasonic recommends using the same capacity cards to avoid any trouble during operation.
Back to top | ||
An error message "CHECK CARD" or "INCOMPATIBLE DATA" is displayed when an SD/SDHC memory card is inserted.
This error message may be displayed in cases in which the 3D memory cards
were used with other equipment or computers, or if the SD/SDHC memory cards
are being used for the first time use. In this case, perform the following:
|
||
Back to top | ||
An error message ''CHECK CARD LEFT/RIGHT'' is displayed when an SD/SDHC memory card is inserted.
After formatting SD/SDHC memory cards, the cards are defined as '' for
Left '' and ''for Right''. "CHECK CARD LEFT/RIGHT" is displayed when these two cards (L/R) are inserted incorrectly. * Panasonic recommends physically marking (L) or (R) on the cards to easily identify. |
||
Back to top | ||
3D effect (objects appearing to be in front or behind the screen) is not displayed properly on the 3D monitor. Connection is via HD-SDI.
Please check whether SDI (L) and SDI (R ) are crossed and connected incorrectly.
Crossed connection makes reversed depth that leads to uncomfortable viewing. And adding too much parallax level (the distance between L image and R image) also leads to uncomfortable viewing. Make sure the setting of convergence level in this case. |
||
Back to top | ||
There is no signal from the HD-SDI terminal.
You can select the signal out type (component or SDI) with the “SDI OUT”
menu item. Please check that the SDI terminal correctly outputs the signal after selecting “ON” in this menu item. |

VIERA Link remote does not work.
AG-3DA1 is not compatible with VIERA Link remote. When AG-3DA1 is connected to equipment that supports VIERA Link, the VIERA Link functions of the other equipment may not operate properly. |

A rattling sound comes from the lens barrel when the power is off and the camera is waved around.
Your camera recorder is not defective. This sound is made by part of the lens . The sound should not occur when the power is turned on.
Back to top | ||
White balance cyclically changes under artificial rights.
This happens under artificial lights such as fluorescent lamps and mercury-vapor
lamps. Their luminance fluctuates in relation to the AC power frequency. Mutual interference will occur when the camera-recorder’s vertical synchronization frequency (example 59.94Hz) and the lighting frequency (example 50Hz) is mismatched. It may cause the cyclical change of the white balance. Before shooting or adjusting the white balance in such an environment, set the shutter speed as follows. SYSTEM FREQUENCY setting : 60Hz SYSTEM FREQUENCY setting : 50Hz |
