• What is the outline of AV-HLC100?

  This device is an all-in-one switcher that combines video switching, audio mixing, and camera control functions in one unit.

   

  （ Main Features ）　

   • Compliant with NDI and NDI|HX, which enables high-resolution videos to be encoded and transferred in real time (*1)

   • When HD Integrated Cameras are connected, switching between images from up to 8 cameras and controlling each camera are allowed through only a single LAN cable without using IP decoders.

   • Simultaneous input of various signals such as SDI and HDMI is possible.

   • Over 190 types of transitions, including PinP and 3D-DVE, and title functions that allow you to edit fonts and designs as you like are available.

   • Audio input is available from the audio material embedded in video as well as two external audio inputs and the microphone input. In video output, you can embed the audio after mixing, or selecting from, those audio materials.

   • RTMP connection is supported so the video can be uploaded directly to live streaming services such as YouTube Live.

   • This switcher supports the following formats.

     1080/59.94p, 1080/59.94i, 1080/50p, 1080/50i,

     1080/29.97p, 1080/29.97PsF, 1080/23.98p, 1080/25PsF,

     720/59.94p, 720/29.97p, 720/23.98p, 720/50p, 720/25p

     720/480i, 720/576i 　

     * HDMI input does not support 1080/59.94p and 1080/50p formats.

• How many video inputs are available?

   • SDI：4 inputs

  　 or

   • SDI：3 inputs + HDMI: 1 input

   

      * SDI input 1 and HDMI input cannot be used at the same time.

      * For 3G-SDI, only Level-A is supported.

• How many network materials can be input?

   You can assign 8 materials to this switcher.    System Configuration

   The following network inputs are supported as a feature.

   • NDI input (NDI|HX-compatible Panasonic PTZ cameras and NDI-compatible devices)

   • IP input (IP input from Skype TX-compatible PC)

• How many video outputs are available?

   This switcher has the following 4 output terminals.

   • SDI1：(PGM only)                                            * Only Level-A is supported for 3G-SDI.

   • SDI2：(selectable from PGM, PVW and AUX) * Only Level-A is supported for 3G-SDI.

   • HDMI or DisplayPort (for GUI)          * Simultaneous output is not possible.

   • Network Video Output: 1 terminal

• How many audio inputs are available?

   Out of the following 15 input systems, 8 can be assigned to audio.

   • SDI/HDMI Embedded Audio: 4 systems

   • NDI Embedded Audio: 8 systems

   • Line Input: 2 systems

   • Microphone Input: 1 system

   Audio can be output from the following 6 systems.

• The switcher does not recognize NDI|HX-compatible remote cameras.

   Your AV-HLC100 switcher needs to have NDI|HX Driver installed

  * If you connect a remote camera after starting HLC100 application, it may not be displayed in the selection list. Please close the HLC100 application first, and then start it up again.

   It is possible.

• What is the purpose of HDMI/DisplayPort output?

   It is for monitor output for confirmation so as to operate or set the equipment while viewing each source image. You cannot change the screen layout and the number of display divisions.

   SDI1：PGM (Program)　Fixed to PGM (Program) and unable to be changed.

   SDI2：PGM (Program), Can be assigned to one of PGM (Program), PVW (Preview) and AUX.

   This equipment operates systematically as a LIVE switcher.

   Installing other application software may cause trouble with the operation, so it is not recommended.

• Is it necessary to match the format of input signal to the system format in advance?

   It is not necessary.

   The input signal is internally converted to the system format set on the administrator screen of this switcher.

• How many crosspoints are available at the maximum?

   You can use a total of up to 8 points.

• Is it possible to control cameras via serial connection?

   Control via serial connection is not possible over Panasonic cameras as well as other makers’.

• Is it possible to record videos inside the switcher unit itself?

   It is possible.

   You can configure the resolution, bit rate and frame rate via encoder configuration.

   However, the internal SSD has its capacity limit and, if this limit is exceeded, the system becomes unstable. Recording on an external HDD is recommended.

   * You need to install the NewTek Streaming for AV-HLC100 plug-in so as to record and stream still images or videos.

      For the installation procedure, please refer to “Chapter 14 Stream/Record” of Operating Instructions.

• What is the recommended resolution of a monitor connected to GUI (HDMI or DisplayPort) output?

   Please use a monitor resolution between 1600x900 pixels and 1920x1200 pixels inclusive.

   Individual recording is not possible. Only PGM (Program) output can be recorded.

• What is the internal recording format of this switcher?

   It records in MP4 format. You can play back the recording on the software that supports MP4 format.

• If this switcher and another supported controller are connected, which one is given priority in controlling the camera?

   The camera gives priority to a later command and performs the function according to it.

• Is it possible to connect an external HDD?

   It is possible. USB3.0 connectors are provided for connectivity with external storage devices.　

  * If recording videos, recording on an external HDD is recommended.

  * For a system backup, you need an external HDD with a capacity of 256 GB or more.

   It is possible.

• What is the format of streaming output?

   It is RTMP format. You can upload videos directly to YouTube, Facebook, etc.

   For the video format, up to 1080/30p can be selected. Bit rate can also be adjusted.

• Is it possible to control this switcher via external equipment?

   This switcher cannot be controlled via external equipment.

   You can adjust the timings of both video and audio of each source.

• Streaming video is not playing smoothly.

   If a PTZ camera’s frame rate does not match this switcher’s output frame rate, the video may not be smooth.

   Please adjust the frame rate of this switcher.

• The switcher cannot control PTZ camera.

   Is your remote camera’s authentication function turned ON?

   If User Auth setting, etc. are enabled, Pan/Tilt control cannot be performed via this switcher. You need to switch the authentication setting to OFF. For details, please refer to the remote camera's Operating Instructions.

   And we do not guarantee the operation of other makers’PTZ cameras.

   Connecting switchers is possible, but the operation is not guaranteed.
